QServices is a remote-first software consultancy. We are not headquartered in Manchester, but we work with Manchester and wider UK businesses across tech, manufacturing, and media on React Native development engagements with four hours of GMT morning overlap daily. We build iOS and Android apps from a single codebase, UK GDPR compliant from day one.
Manchester's three primary sectors each have distinct mobile app requirements.
UK GDPR applies across all three sectors. Under the post-Brexit UK data protection regime, personal data collected in a mobile app requires a lawful basis, must support subject access requests, and cannot be transferred outside the UK or EEA without an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses. We build consent screens, data-deletion flows, and audit logging into the app architecture from the start, not as afterthoughts. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) is the UK's supervisory authority for data protection; we follow its published guidance on mobile app development when scoping projects for UK clients.
Our engineering team is based in India. Manchester operates on GMT; we operate on IST (UTC+5:30), which is five and a half hours ahead. A 9am Manchester standup is 2:30pm for our team. That gives four hours of live overlap each working day from 9am to 1pm GMT, which covers daily syncs, sprint demos, and code walkthroughs without either side working unsociable hours.
A typical week looks like this: a 30-minute Monday standup at 9:30am GMT to align on the week's goals, async PR reviews and Slack or Teams messages throughout the day, and a Thursday demo at 10am GMT for the sprint review. We use whichever communication tool the client already has, usually Microsoft Teams or Slack. Code sits in GitHub with branch protection and required reviews before any merge to main.
Every decision gets written down. Each sprint ends with a written summary covering what shipped, what changed scope, and what is next. This creates an audit trail useful for internal stakeholders and, where required, for UK GDPR compliance documentation covering data processing activities.
We do not offer routine on-site visits to Manchester. For significant milestone events, such as a project kickoff workshop or a go-live review, we can discuss travel on a case-by-case basis. Most clients find remote-only delivery works without it once the async cadence is established.
We do not have a current Manchester or Greater Manchester client to reference publicly. The two closest projects by use case and technical pattern are below.
For a last-mile logistics business, we built a React Native delivery management app covering real-time order tracking, proof-of-delivery capture, driver assignment via the eLogi API, and Zoho-powered invoice generation. The app runs on iOS and Android from a single codebase. This is directly applicable to Manchester's manufacturing and logistics sector, where field operations and supply chain visibility are common requirements for a React Native manufacturing app.
Last-mile delivery business
End-to-end delivery management with real-time order tracking and proof of delivery
Zoho-powered invoice generation with two-factor authentication and eLogi integration for driver assignment
We also built the Equalution React Native mobile app for a health and nutrition platform, paired with a React.js web app for dieticians, using Node.js and MySQL on the backend. The cross-platform pattern, where a consumer mobile app and an admin web interface share a single API backend, applies directly to Manchester media companies that need both an audience app and an editorial management interface.
Health and nutrition coaching startup
ML-driven personalized calorie and macro targets using body metrics for sustainable diet plans
Dual platform: React.js dietician web app and React Native client mobile app with 80/20 whole-food approach
Neither project is from the UK market. We are not claiming local regulatory experience by inference. What transfers across is the React Native delivery pattern: cross-platform builds, third-party API integration, and a clean separation between mobile client and web admin that keeps maintenance costs down after launch.
We price in USD. UK GDPR compliance work typically adds 15 to 25 percent to a base estimate when consent management, data-deletion flows, or audit logging are out of scope in the initial brief. Full pricing detail is in our React Native development cost guide.
Three steps: a 30-minute discovery call on Teams or Zoom where we ask about your users, your existing systems, and your timeline; a scoping document within five working days covering proposed architecture, a phased delivery plan, and a fixed-price or time-and-materials estimate; and a confirmed project start date once you approve the scope. There is no obligation after the discovery call. If the estimate is not a fit, we will say so plainly.
Yes. We have no office in Manchester. Every engagement runs remotely with four hours of daily live overlap during GMT morning hours, 9am to 1pm. We use Teams or Slack for communication, GitHub for code review, and Jira or Notion for project tracking depending on client preference. Before any personal data is shared with our team, we sign a Data Processing Agreement that covers UK GDPR obligations, including the ICO's standard contractual clauses for international transfers. We treat UK GDPR compliance as a project requirement, not a legal formality added at the end.
