QServices is a remote-first mobile app development company serving Houston businesses in energy, healthcare, and logistics. We are India-based, not Houston-based, but we cover 3 to 4 hours of CT morning overlap daily and ship production-ready iOS and Android apps for Texas clients. See our full services list.
Houston's three core industries each drive a distinct set of mobile requirements:
Texas businesses building consumer-facing apps also need to comply with the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), which took effect July 2024. Any app collecting personal data from Texas residents requires a privacy notice, opt-out rights for data sales, and data processing agreements with third-party vendors. We scope these requirements in from the start, not as an afterthought during legal review.
Our engineering team is in India (IST). Houston runs on Central Time, which is 10.5 hours behind IST in summer (CDT) and 11.5 hours behind in winter (CST). We bridge this gap by keeping senior leads available from 7:30pm to 10:30pm IST, which covers 9am to 12pm CT for live standups, design reviews, and sprint demos.
Outside that window, we run async: pull request reviews posted with written context, Loom walkthroughs for completed features, and written status updates each morning your time. Major milestones are scheduled as live calls. We work in Teams or Slack depending on what your team already uses.
We do not have a Houston office. On-site visits are not part of our standard engagement model. Code sits in a shared GitHub repository from day one, so your team has full visibility into commits and pull requests, not just sprint summaries. Our HITL (Human-in-the-Loop) model means your team approves architecture decisions, UX directions, and integration choices before we build on them. We do not disappear for a sprint and return with something you did not ask for.
We do not have a published case study from a Houston or Texas client, and we have not yet shipped an app specifically for the energy or logistics sectors. We want to be straightforward about that.
Our closest mobile delivery experience is in financial services mobile platforms, which share core engineering patterns with logistics and energy apps: offline reliability, real-time sync over variable networks, and strict security requirements from day one.
Islamic bank, Somalia
100K+ downloads with 4.8-star rating on launch
First digital payment platform in a predominantly cash-based economy, enabling P2P transfers, merchant QR payments, and international remittances
For SomBank in Somalia, we shipped a mobile payment platform that reached 100,000+ downloads with a 4.8-star rating at launch. It was built on React Native with Azure B2C for identity management, Azure Service Bus for async messaging, and Ocelot as the API gateway. The offline-first architecture and real-time sync patterns we used there map directly to field worker apps in energy environments and to logistics dispatch screens that need live status without polling.
Digital payments company, emerging market economy
Introduced real-time digital peer-to-peer transfers to a previously cash-dependent economy
QR code merchant payments and bank account top-ups with SignalR real-time transaction updates
The Chikwama digital wallet introduced real-time P2P transfers to a cash-dependent economy using SignalR for live transaction updates. Both projects used React Native for cross-platform delivery, Azure for cloud services, and required strict security design from the start. React Native is our primary stack for cross-platform Houston work, with Swift (iOS-only) or Kotlin (Android-only) available when native performance is the priority.
These are financial services references, not energy or healthcare. If your project is in those sectors, we bring the mobile engineering capability but will be learning your compliance context alongside you, and we will say so clearly in the scoping document.
Our rates run from $20/hr for standard development to $65/hr for senior engineers. Most Houston projects we quote as fixed-scope after a discovery engagement. Typical brackets:
Add 15 to 25 percent for HIPAA compliance scope. Each non-trivial system integration, ERP, dispatch platform, SCADA bridge, adds $3,000 to $12,000. App Store and Play Store submission is included in all fixed-scope projects. Maintenance retainers run $2,000 to $4,000 per month after launch. All pricing is in USD.
For a typical Houston healthcare or energy app, the realistic range is $35,000 to $200,000 depending on complexity and compliance scope. See the full mobile app cost breakdown.

Yes. Our daily 3 to 4 hour CT morning overlap (9am to 12pm CT, which is 7:30pm to 10:30pm IST) covers standups and live reviews. Code is in a shared repository throughout. We use Teams or Slack for async communication and Loom for feature walkthroughs.
For Houston healthcare clients, we build HIPAA requirements into scope and can execute a data processing agreement before project start. For energy and logistics clients, the TDPSA applies to any app collecting personal data from Texas residents, we handle privacy notices and opt-out mechanisms as part of standard scope. We do not have a Houston office. If your procurement process requires a locally incorporated vendor, that is worth discussing before we start rather than discovering it at contract time.
