We are not headquartered in Berlin, but we work with Berlin clients in Tech, FinTech, and Manufacturing with 3 to 4 hours of CET morning overlap daily. QServices is a remote-first software consultancy serving German businesses that need cross-platform mobile apps built to EU GDPR and BaFin standards. See our full services overview for what we cover.
Berlin's mobile app market is shaped by three sectors, each with its own requirements.
The regulatory baseline in Germany is GDPR. Any app that collects personal data from German users needs a lawful basis for each data type, proper consent flows, and a signed data processing agreement with sub-processors including us. BaFin adds a second layer for financial apps: authentication standards, transaction logging, and in some cases third-party audit rights. We factor both regimes into technical design from the start, not as an afterthought when your compliance team asks questions.
Berlin operates on CET (UTC+1 in winter, UTC+2 in summer as CEST). Our engineering team works on IST (UTC+5:30). That gives a 3.5-hour overlap in winter from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm Berlin time, and a 4.5-hour overlap in summer from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm Berlin time. We schedule all standups and sprint reviews inside that window so your team never has to log on outside business hours.
Outside overlap hours, we run async through Slack or Microsoft Teams, whichever your team prefers. Every two-week sprint ends with a recorded demo you can watch at your own pace. Code reviews are handled same-day. We post sprint goals and any blockers at the start of each week so you know where things stand without having to ask.
We deliver working software at the end of each sprint, not status reports. You get access to a staging build after every sprint to test on real devices before anything ships to production. On-site visits to Berlin are available for project kickoff or milestone reviews if that helps build initial trust on a longer engagement.
We do not have a published case study from Berlin or Germany. Our two closest examples by service tag are a logistics app and a health platform, both built in React Native.
Last-mile delivery business
End-to-end delivery management with real-time order tracking and proof of delivery
Zoho-powered invoice generation with two-factor authentication and eLogi integration for driver assignment
The My Delivery app managed last-mile delivery operations with real-time order tracking and proof of delivery, integrating eLogi for driver assignment and Zoho for invoice generation. For Berlin's manufacturing and logistics sector, this is the closest example of the field-operations tooling we have shipped in production.
Health and nutrition coaching startup
ML-driven personalized calorie and macro targets using body metrics for sustainable diet plans
Dual platform: React.js dietician web app and React Native client mobile app with 80/20 whole-food approach
Equalution combined a React Native mobile client with a React.js web app for dieticians on a shared Node.js and MySQL backend. The dual-interface model, where end users and operators run separate apps on the same data layer, comes up often in Berlin's B2B tech startups building tools that serve both customers and internal teams.
Neither project was in Germany. For formal GDPR obligations such as appointing a data protection officer, we recommend engaging a local German DPO or privacy counsel. We handle the technical implementation of privacy-by-design; local legal counsel handles the formal compliance framework.
Our engagements are priced in USD. Here is a scope-based bracket guide for React Native development costs:
GDPR compliance work, including consent flows, data subject request handling, and privacy-by-design documentation, adds roughly 15 to 25 percent to any bracket if you need it formally implemented and documented. BaFin-specific requirements for FinTech apps are scoped case by case during discovery.
Three steps. First, a 30-minute discovery call where you walk us through what you are building and we ask about timeline, budget, and any compliance constraints specific to your business. Second, we deliver a scoping document within five business days covering approach, team, timeline, and a fixed cost range. Third, if the scope works for both sides, we start the first sprint.
Use the contact form on this page to book the call. We respond within one business day.
Yes. Every QServices engagement is remote. Berlin sits 3.5 to 4.5 hours behind our India team depending on the season, which gives a reliable CET morning window for standups and sprint demos without anyone working outside normal hours.
For German clients, we sign a data processing agreement as required under GDPR Article 28. We can store project data on EU-based infrastructure if your data residency policy requires it. For FinTech clients under BaFin supervision, we discuss your specific regulatory constraints during the discovery call so the technical architecture reflects them from the beginning, not after a BaFin audit finds gaps.
Share your requirements with QServices. Our engineers will give you a straight answer on fit, timeline, and cost — no sales scripts.
