QServices is a remote-first software consultancy serving Montreal and Quebec businesses in AI research, aerospace, pharma, and gaming. We are not headquartered in Montreal, but we work with Quebec clients on Azure cloud migration with ET hours overlap daily. We are a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Azure Infrastructure and Digital & App Innovation.
Montreal's primary sectors each bring distinct infrastructure requirements to a cloud migration project:
Quebec Law 25 (Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector), which came into full force in September 2023, requires organizations to complete a privacy impact assessment before transferring personal data to any new system, cloud environments included. This applies to personal data belonging to Quebec residents, regardless of where the organization is headquartered. Federal PIPEDA applies in parallel for cross-provincial and international data flows. We account for both in the scoping document for every Quebec engagement.
Our team is based in India and operates on IST (UTC+5:30). Montreal runs on Eastern Time, which is UTC-4 in summer (EDT) and UTC-5 in winter (EST). That puts us 9.5 hours apart in summer and 10.5 hours apart in winter.
We address this directly rather than glossing over it. We block a four-hour morning window in Eastern Time, roughly 9 AM to 1 PM ET, during which senior engineers and the project lead are available for calls, architecture reviews, and real-time decisions. A question your team sends at 5 PM ET gets a written response before your standup the next morning. That cadence works for the pharma, aerospace, and tech teams we serve in similar regulated markets.
Our standard engagement structure: weekly video standup, a shared Azure DevOps or Linear board for task tracking, async sprint reviews with screen recordings, and a short written status note every Friday. For major milestones, we schedule extended overlap sessions. On projects over $60K USD, we can arrange a short on-site visit to Montreal for project kickoff or a key review milestone.
Our team communicates in English. If you need project documentation or user guides in French to meet Quebec's Charter of the French Language requirements, raise that during scoping and we build it into the timeline and budget.
We do not have a published client from Montreal or Quebec. We say that directly rather than inventing a reference.
The closest matched work by sector and Azure technology stack: for SomBank, an Islamic bank in Somalia, we built a mobile payments platform on Azure Service Bus, Azure B2C, Azure Key Vault, and Ocelot API Gateway. The project required encrypted secrets handling, a compliant auth layer, and strict access controls on Azure, which is the same posture aerospace and pharma clients in Quebec require for regulated workloads. That platform launched with 100K+ downloads and a 4.8-star rating.

For Ergonnex AI, a project management SaaS startup, we built an AI-powered platform on Azure with real-time tracking dashboards and predictive resource allocation. This is directly relevant for Montreal AI research organizations looking to consolidate compute and coordination on a single Azure environment. You can also review our AI agent development work to see how we extend Azure cloud foundations into production AI systems.

Neither engagement was in Canada. If regulated industry delivery on Azure matters more than geography, SomBank is the reference. If AI-native cloud architecture matters more, Ergonnex is the reference.
Project costs run from $15,000 to $150,000 USD depending on scope, number of services, and compliance requirements. Engagements are priced in USD. Quebec clients convert at the current CAD/USD rate. See the full Azure cloud migration pricing breakdown for a scope-by-scope estimate.
For Quebec clients with Law 25 compliance requirements, add 15-25% to the base estimate for privacy impact assessment work, Azure Policy configuration, and data classification documentation. That overhead is real and we include it in the written scope rather than surfacing it mid-project.

Yes. All of our client engagements run remotely. For Montreal specifically, we maintain a morning ET overlap window, roughly 9 AM to 1 PM Eastern Time, where senior engineers and the project lead are available in real time. We work over Microsoft Teams or Slack, whichever your team uses. Code reviews, sprint demos, and architecture discussions all happen in that window.
On data residency: for clients with Quebec Law 25 obligations, we configure Azure deployments to Canadian regions by default, Canada Central (Toronto) or Canada East (Quebec City), and document the data flow as part of the privacy impact assessment included in the project scope. That documentation is written to satisfy the specific assessment requirements under Law 25, not a generic cloud compliance checklist.
