We are not based in Chicago, but we work with Chicago clients across insurance, manufacturing, logistics, and FinTech with Central Time hours of overlap. QServices is a remote-first software consultancy serving Illinois businesses in Azure AI Foundry implementation and enterprise AI application development.
Chicago's economy concentrates in four industries where AI applications carry real regulatory weight. Here is what buyers in each sector typically ask for:
BIPA is the most consequential local requirement for AI projects in Illinois. It carries a private right of action and statutory damages of $1,000 to $5,000 per violation, with explicit consent requirements before collecting biometric identifiers. Any AI application processing voice, face, or fingerprint data from Illinois residents needs a BIPA compliance review before it touches production data. This is not a generic data privacy concern, it is an Illinois-specific statute with a litigation track record that directly affects insurance, HR tech, and any Chicago FinTech application that handles identity verification.
Our team is based in India (IST, UTC+5:30). Chicago runs on Central Time (UTC-6 in winter, UTC-5 in summer), which puts the two time zones roughly 11 to 11.5 hours apart. That gap is manageable, but we will not pretend it is not there.
In practice, we keep one senior engineer and the project lead on a shifted schedule that overlaps with Chicago's morning from 8am to noon CT. That window is where we run weekly standups, sprint reviews, and live demo sessions. The rest of the collaboration runs async: pull request reviews, architecture decisions, and QA feedback arrive in Microsoft Teams or Slack with a same-day turnaround commitment.
For milestone reviews such as architecture sign-off, staging demos, and go-live readiness checks, we schedule two-hour video sessions with the Chicago stakeholder team and our delivery lead both present. Code lives in your Azure subscription from day one. You own the repository, the Azure resources, and the data throughout the engagement. We do not offer routine on-site visits, but we can arrange a travel engagement for an initial kickoff workshop if the project scope and timeline warrant it.
We do not have a published case study from a Chicago-based client. The two closest Azure AI Foundry engagements involve SaaS and enterprise software companies rather than Chicago's core industries of insurance, manufacturing, or logistics. We describe them honestly below.
For an IT services company, we built a Smart PM assistant on Azure AI Foundry and Azure AI Search, connected to Azure DevOps and Microsoft Teams. The agent automated meeting transcript capture, generated backlog items with Fibonacci story point estimates, and fed a real-time Power BI sprint velocity dashboard, replacing manual note capture and task allocation entirely.

For an enterprise software company, we built a unified knowledge management bot using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Azure AI Foundry. The assistant handled both document-specific queries against an Azure AI Search index and broader general knowledge questions, returning accurate responses from a single interface.

Neither engagement is a direct match for an Illinois insurer or a Chicago logistics operator. The Azure AI Foundry architecture patterns, evaluation harness setup, and Azure AI Search integration work carry over directly to those contexts. If you are evaluating us for a regulated industry project, we will tell you precisely where we have prior experience and where we do not.
All engagements are priced in USD. Based on typical project scopes for this service:
If your project touches BIPA-regulated data or falls under Illinois Department of Insurance oversight, add 15 to 25 percent for compliance scoping, consent-flow design, and documentation. A third-party compliance review adds $5,000 to $20,000 on top of that. Azure consumption is billed directly to your Azure subscription and is not included in our project fees.

Yes. All of our client engagements run remotely. We do not maintain a Chicago office. Our team shifts to overlap with Central Time mornings (8am to noon CT) for live sessions, with all async communication through Microsoft Teams or Slack. For data residency, we scope all Azure AI Foundry deployments to your chosen Azure regions, including US-based data centers. Illinois BIPA obligations apply to your application design, and we account for them in the scoping process from the start.
